Overview
Crosby Construction completed significant upgrades to the City of Berne's wastewater treatment plant, modernizing the facility to improve treatment performance, efficiency, and long-term reliability. The project included the demolition of existing clarifiers, sludge lagoons, and a lift station, followed by the installation of a new Submerged Attached Growth Reactor (SAGR) system, fine bubble aeration, a disk filter unit, inline UV disinfection system, new effluent pumps and motors, a control building, a 5,000-gallon chemical storage tank, and associated underground utilities. These comprehensive improvements equipped the City of Berne with an advanced wastewater treatment system designed to meet current regulatory requirements while supporting the community's future infrastructure needs.
